The 2016 Cabo San Lucas wedding of Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson was gorgeous and super exclusive.

Micheal and Nicole had been dating on and off for eight years when they married in a backyard ceremony at home before flying off to Mexico for extended celebrations four months later.
Their original ceremony was a simple signing of the legal paperwork with only five people present.
They left the romantic, luxurious celebrations for Mexico.
Our team finds this is a popular choice with many couples we work with.
It’s often easier to sort the legal stuff out at home and choose a symbolic wedding ceremony in Mexico.
But legal weddings in Mexico are also possible with a little extra cost and planning.
Call us at 888-537-9797 for more advice and info about the best choice for you.
2. Eva Longoria and Jose Baston
250 guests joined Eva Longoria and Jose Baston when they said “I do” in Valle de Bravo.
The lakeside town is a stunning location in its own right.
And the couple chose to further enhance the magical beauty with an array of light bulbs and white flowers.

After the ceremony, the guests gathered in a breathtaking glass marquee for the reception.
They were also treated to fireworks and live music.
Eva and Jose’s celebrations were truly star-studded, with a guest list that included Victoria Beckham and Melanie Griffith.
But you don’t need to have celebrities at your wedding for it to be a fabulous luxury event if you choose the right location.

When Richa and Rishi Moorjani used a dating app designed for single South Asians in America, they didn’t imagine they would end up meeting the person they would marry.
But that’s exactly what happened.
Four years after they first met on the app, they celebrated their love with a six-event wedding at Dreams Playa Mujeres in Cancun (this is one of our favourite resorts to plan at).
These events included a Mexican-themed party to welcome guests as well as a traditional Haldi celebrations by the pool.
The bride was beautiful in a traditional red lengha on her big day.

Former Big Brother housemate Christie Murphy and partner Jamie Martin got their marriage certificate in New Jersey and held a small ceremony with immediate family present.
They followed this event with a larger symbolic wedding ceremony in Tulum a few months later when the brides looked gorgeous in their white dresses.
From our experience, many same-sex couples choose to follow the same path as Christie and Jamie.
They take care of the legal details at home and symbolically celebrate their love at their chosen destination.
However, legal same-sex weddings in Mexico are possible with a little extra planning and paperwork.

Their outfits on the big day were traditional wedding chic, with Courtney wearing a white mermaid-style gown and Mario opting for a classic black tuxedo.
The couple had a traditional Catholic marriage service with the Sea of Cortez as a backdrop.
If you’d like to choose a Catholic service for your wedding, we’re happy to help you understand what needs to be done.
And we’ll recommend resorts with a chapel as a wedding venue.

The ceremony was followed by a live band performing and a firework display.
This type of celebrity experience may be out of your budget range, but we’ll make sure that you feel like a VIP on your big day.
