Description

Combine a visit to the Mayan pyramids of Tulum with an underwater adventure snorkeling with vibrant marine life!

The Mayan ruins at Tulum tower over the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea like an ancient fortress.

In fact, it is one of the few examples of walled cities built by the ancient Maya. It was an important trading site for those traveling between land and sea.

In the Turtles & Tulum Tour Riviera Maya, you'll have the opportunity to explore the impressive buildings and ceremonial centers of this gateway to the nearby cities of Coba, Ek Balam and Chichen Itza, among others (find out where are the Mayan ruins on our blog).

Following a 45-minute guided tour of this magical city overlooking the Caribbean Sea, you'll have about 15 minutes to walk around and take your own pictures of Tulum, formerly known as Zama, meaning Place of the Dawning Sun in Yucatec Maya.

Next stop: Snorkeling on the second longest barrier reef in the world!

Once you've received proper instruction, you'll head out with your trained guide on a snorkeling excursion above the abundant seagrass and coral reef residing in the tranquil underwater world.

In addition to the sea turtles, you'll also have the opportunity (if you're lucky of course) to see different varieties of tropical fish, including manta rays, starfish, groupers and more!
