The resort met all our expectations. The staff was outstanding,for an all inclusive the food was quite good, quiet even with some small children there, very convient to Playa. My only complaint-they need better beach chairs.

The Shangri-la (now called Mahekal) was absolutely fantastic. The setting with the small cabanas on the beach was so relaxing, quaint and beautiful. I walked the entire beach and I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. I would definitely recommend either a beach view or ocean front - it is worth the extra money. Breakfast and either lunch or dinner are included and the food/service was excellent. Great for families and couples.

The only change I would wish for at this wonderfully different type of place, would be to have a coffee pot in the room to enjoy our first morning tea prior to waiting for the breakfast restaurant to open. However, on our next stay, we will know enough to bring a small appliance for this. Loved this little village with its winding paths & sand at our feet.

verry lovely place, they had solded the place. It is a bad news for the travelers who are looking for a kind of place like Shangri-la caribe.

We enjoyed the hotel, thought it was very beautiful. The food was pretty good. We just think we need some more activities for the kids, and a little bit more high end. But for the price the place was great.

LOVED this resort - and really sad that they're tearing it down. It truly is the best beach in town!

Overall it was very nice. We had problem with bugs falling from our straw ceiling. The hotel fumigated after I told them, however, it was still hard to fall asleep at night after seeing them on our bed.

i WISH TO THANK ANDREW AND THE REST OF THE CREW FOR ARRANGING THIS VACATION TO SHANGRI LA CARIBE RESORT. WE WOULD GO BACK, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE RESORT IS GOING TO BE TORN DOWN IN APRIL TO MAKE ROOM FOR SOME CONDOMINIUMS. THE ATMOSPHERE, ROOMS,FOOD, SERVICE WERE GOOD AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND WORLD LINKS FOR ARRANGEMENTS. I WILL HEAR FROM ANDREW AFTER APRIL TO HEAR ABOUT HONDURAS AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO BOOKING A TRIP THERE.

It is unfortunate that the hotel has been sold and is being torn down. What a waste! It is a beautiful spot, the village is really awesome. I would bring my entire family there on vacation, if I could!
