Very nice hotel, small, simple, rooms very clean, right on the beach, exceptional service - (i got an upgrade for the last 3 nights and they didn't charge me the extra room difference). Food at hotel was very good - a lot of locals (long term American visitors) come here and hang out at the beach as the staff is friendly and the restaurant is very good (which it was).
It was a simple place to stay. Free internet room. Meals very reasonable - i ran a tab for the week and the entire week of drinks and meals was $70US (I'm not a big drinker, so this was sodas, beach snacks, occasional beer, and lunches).
Excellent location - great restaurants right up the road to 5th ave.
Very quiet - could hear some bands down the beach, but never to keep me awake. The big boom-boom clubs were a block away on calle 12th, but couldn't hear them at all.
Overall great stay.

It was impossible to open the drapes which is hardly what you want when you are paying for a room with a view.

Almost everything was perfect! It wasn't the fault of the hotel or Worldlinks but the beach reclaimation project kept us from using the beach for 3 days and was a bit noisy with construction equipment moving about. We were told upon check in that there would be a 30% discount for each of these 3 days. We haven't been able to get any info on this from Worldlinks yet.
The only other problem was the bottom sheet on the king size bed didn't fit properly. It wouldn't tuck in and ended up being bunched up under us. Over all after we got the beach back, it was as wonderful as could be.

the hotel was great but the Hertz car service was bad. they didnt have a car for us so they gave us a funky cargo van with hertz ads all over the outside ,2 seats and 200,000 miles. the next day with much time and effort we were able to switch to a car whose left headlight didnt work, dirty and in need of maitenance (oil change).

Playa Maya was a recommendation by one of the worldlink staff members and I am so glad. I was truly happy there.

I really enjoyed my stay at Playa Maya. The staff was excellent and the rooms were very clean. We had 22 people in our group from ages 4 to 60+. They accomodated all of our needs. The food at the hotel was very good/reasonably priced. They had a local bakery prepare a surprise birthday cake for one of our group and decorated her room to top it off. They helped us out immensely by having a doctor make a house call to the hotel - one of the kids required a few stitches in his head from some rough housing play in the pool. One of the staff even offered to drive us to the doctor's office. The employees at the hotel get an A++! Nice family place.

We really enjoyed staying at Playa Maya. The rooms are dated could use new linens but they were clean and the employees were outstanding would definitely stay there again.
