Three decades ago, the creators of Anthony’s Key Resort envisioned a small, tropical hide-away that would allow adventurous travelers the opportunity to experience the beauty of Roatan and the Caribbean as nature intended.

Scuba diving and snorkeling Roatan’s sparkling waters are the main attractions but much more is available to curious guests. Nature lovers can enjoy the resort’s grounds by land or sea. Hikers can explore the nature trails at Bailey’s Key and nearby Carambola Gardens.

Bailey's Key, our dolphin encounter lagoon, is at the key's south end, where you can interact with these highly intelligent marine mammals without cumbersome snorkeling gear. There is also a cozy beach where you can lie back in a lounge chair while the kids catch hermit crabs nearby.

AKR’s dolphin encounter and educational programs will satisfy the curiosity of guests of all ages. Here, you can snorkel with dolphins or dive with them in the open sea, accompanied by a dolphin behaviorist and videographer. Become a trainer-for-a-day, or enroll in a dolphin specialty course. During the summer months and Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays, AKR and the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences offer a six-day Dolphin Scuba Camp where children learn about and interact with dolphins. They also hone new snorkeling or scuba skills, and learn about the island's eco-system and culture. Bookings for all Dolphin Programs must be made on the island through the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences.

The natural history of the island is featured at the The Roatan Museum located near RIMS. Active guests can also participate in sea kayaking and canoeing, volleyball and horseback riding. Of course if all this gets to be too much, lazing in a hammock, one of the resorts more popular activities is always and option.

Anthony's Key Resort is the ideal family vacation destination. Parents enjoy time for themselves while children learn about and interact with bottlenose dolphins or participate in a variety of PADI programs. Baby sitting services are available as well.

Weddings at Anthony's Key Resort are arranged for the late afternoon, on an elevated deck overlooking the ocean and the evening sunset. This area is best suited for small weddings only; however, there are several other locations on the property where the ceremony can be arranged if the couple wishes to do so. The ceremony is short, simple and is conducted in Spanish, although you may request a translation. It is more of a formality, as you might expect with a county judge. You will receive a wedding certificate in English or in Spanish.
