We were staying in Playa del Carmen during Hurricane Dean. The hotel managers gave us a pre Hurricane briefing which was very reassuring. We felt our safety was of obvious concern to them. They looked after us very well.
Beautiful hotel, with a lot of character, in a great location and with the nicest staff. An additional advantage (which we didn't know at the time of booking) is Tucan's beach club, which provides beach beds, umbrellas, towels, bathrooms, showers and a great beach-side pool at no extra cost! We loved this hotel!
