While you don't really need a car if you are staying in Playa del Carmen, (everything is very close and within easy walk to the hotels) you may like to have a car for day trips and explorations, so for that you can easrily rent a car, (Budget, Hertz and a few other major Companies have offices in the airport. You can also arrange for door to door round trip Car service.

Another options which is less costly, is the new Riviera Bus. You can easily take the 'Riviera' Public Bus, non-stop service, air-conditioned and comfortable. The bus drops you off at the central bus terminal on 5th Avenue and Juarez in Playa del Carmen. Cost is 65 pesos (about $7 USD) per person one way. You can pick it up going back to the airport as well.

From Cancun Airport to Playa del Carmen – 9:30 AM – 8:30 PM every hour.

From Playa del Carmen To Cancun Airport – 6:00 AM, 7:00, 8:00, 9:30, 10:45, 11:45 and from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM every hour.

The TTC Authorized Taxi – 10 passengers shared van the 45-minute ride costs about $58 USD.

The TTC kiosks located around the terminal near the luggage pick up. Public Taxi - $60 - $70 USD – one way.

Pre-arranged private round trip transfers - about $130 for 2 passengers, door-to-door service.
