On Saturday November 1, 2014, Rotary Club of Playa del Carmen Seaside<\/strong> will host their second annual Charity Golf Tournament, the Rotary Seaside Golf Classic presented by Tequila Barrel, at the Grand Coral Golf Club.<\/p>\n

Beginning at 8:00am, the tournament will be a non-handicap scramble<\/em> with a luncheon and Gala Prize ceremony following. Proceeds from the event will benefit Seaside Rotary\u2019s ongoing programs and initiatives in the Playa del Carmen community.<\/p>\n

Since receiving its charter in September 2012, Seaside Rotary has partnered with and supported several worthwhile organizations including KKiS – Keeping Kids in School,<\/strong> Casa Yoliguani<\/strong>, Cruz Roja (Red Cross), DIF Solidaridad, Christmas Dreams <\/strong>and Kicks4Kids. <\/strong>The club has also worked together with the local Municipal government to spruce up a local park and recreation space and most recently helped to coordinate a donation of over $500,000 USD worth of essential medical equipment and supplies for the new Red Cross Hospital in Playa del Carmen. \u201cDespite the inclement weather, last year\u2019s tournament was a huge success bringing in over 70,000 pesos. Not bad for our first major fundraiser!\u201d remarked Seaside Rotary Club President Scot Lyall \u201cWe were delighted with the support we received from local businesses whose generous contributions are essential to our work in the local community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tournament organizing committee is offering a variety of sponsorship opportunities to support this fundraising initiative. Individuals and local businesses are encouraged to support this charitable event with monetary donations and by providing prizes for the longest putt, longest drive <\/em>and closest to the pin<\/em> contests.<\/p>\n

Corporate sponsors for this year\u2019s tournament include Tequila Barrel, Sr. Dan\u2019s Margarita & Sports Bar, BuyPlaya Real Estate Advisors, Bric Rentals, Calderon y Asociados and The Pinche Gringo Sports Bar.<\/p>\n

Significant prizes are being provided by OHL Classic at Mayakoba, Grand Coral Golf Course, Valentin Imperial Maya, Fairmont Mayakoba<\/a> and El Taj Condominiums<\/a> among many others.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s tournament is sure to be an exciting event with excellent attendance providing excellent exposure for participating businesses.<\/p>\n

Rotary Club of Playa del Carmen Seaside<\/strong><\/a> is Playa del Carmen’s newest Rotary Club and welcomes both men and women. Chartered by Rotary International in September 2012, “Seaside” is an English-speaking Club with 34 members representing North and South America each dedicated to upholding the Rotary ideal of \u201cService Over Self\u201d.<\/p>\n
