It feels unspoiled and untouched, <strong>shaded by glorious Caribbean palm trees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you like swimming in the ocean there is <strong>minimal outer reef break<\/strong> here so float away to your heart&#8217;s content while enjoying the natural lull of the waves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Footwear is not required<\/strong> for entry into the water as the sand is soft and smooth.<\/p>\n<h2>Nature<\/h2>\n<p>Iberostar Quetzal is <strong>Green Globe certified!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What does this mean?<\/p>\n<p>The hotel believes in environmental and cultural sustainability and is committed to preserving resources in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s perfect for travelers who are eco-conscious.<\/p>\n<p>The beautifully landscaped property is inspired by the unspoiled nature of the region and pays tribute to the areas rich archaeological history.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter size-thumb_760x570 wp-image-16665\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playadelcarmen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0489-760x570.jpg\" alt=\"Iberostar Quetzal\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\" data-id=\"16665\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In between both properties, Tucan and Quetzal, you will find a <strong>large jungle section<\/strong> with a nicely laid out stone pathway running through it.<\/p>\n<p>Here, you are free to roam here day and night.<\/p>\n<p>At night it is well illuminated and home to a number of different <strong>bird species<\/strong>, as well as <strong>howler monkeys<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you hear rustling in the trees be sure to look up and catch a glimpse of these beautiful animals unique to this part of the world.<\/p>\n<p>If you truly are an animal lover why not bring a pair of small binoculars on your travels to admire the monkeys up close in their natural habitat.<\/p>\n<p>You won&#8217;t regret it!<\/p>\n<p>Vacations are more than just working your way through the all-inclusive cocktail list (although desirable) they are about reconnecting with nature and rekindling your spirit, and I definitely feel this is something you can do if you decide to choose this hotel.<\/p>\n<p>It is like being on an <strong>archeological escapade in a rainforest.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter size-thumb_760x570 wp-image-16704\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playadelcarmen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/iberostar2-760x570.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\" data-id=\"16704\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For one, you&#8217;ll encounter <strong>real ruins<\/strong> that existed during the Mayan era. In fact, many facets of this all-inclusive hotel is an ode to Mayan culture, from the architecture boasting palm tree leaves and limestone to the statue replicas of Mayan gods, each telling their own story.<\/p>\n<p>You can stroll alongside ponds, <strong>lagoons<\/strong>, and caves all while enjoying nature&#8217;s soundtrack around you.<\/p>\n<p>With its open-air ambiance, woodsy d\u00e9cor and warm colors, you&#8217;ll feel like you&#8217;re always at one with nature.<\/p>\n<h2>Food + Drink<\/h2>\n<p>I was impressed by the range of delicious local and international dining selections at the resort. However, they are closest to the lobby and farthest from the beach.<\/p>\n<p>Be careful when choosing your room as one of the rooms on the Quetzal side (room 2911) has a disco immediately next door.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the noise people often request a different room.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter size-thumb_760x570 wp-image-16708\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playadelcarmen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/889874_93_z-760x570.jpg\" alt=\"Wheelchair Accessible\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\" data-id=\"16708\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The accessible rooms have roll-in shower stalls which are a lot bigger than the regular rooms and have<strong> smooth entrances.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Customer Service is very helpful, and will be there to assist with your every need should you need it.<\/p>\n<h2>Perks<\/h2>\n<h4><strong>1.
