Finding the right place to open the first Amorino Mexico store in this country wasn’t easy.<\/p>\n

Mexico is a large and vibrant country divided into 32 different states.<\/p>\n

Moreover, there are many large, cosmopolitan cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey or even Tijuana that would likely be a good fit for a company looking to sell upscale gelato.<\/p>\n

But having studied the market, Amorino Mexico investors made a decision.<\/p>\n

The first Amorino in Mexico would open in Playa del Carmen<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

This past Saturday, on February 11, they did exactly that.<\/p>\n

According to General Director Christopher Roland, it has everything to do with Playa del Carmen’s cosmopolitan flair and position in the tourism industry.<\/p>\n

“This is the first Amorino in Mexico,” he explains.<\/p>\n

“After looking for the ideal city to open our first store, we chose Playa del Carmen for its positioning not just in Mexico but worldwide.”<\/p>\n

The History of Amorino: Gelato Goes Gourmet<\/h2>\n

15 years ago, two Italians living in France came to a realization that would change their lives.<\/p>\n

Cristiano Sereni and Paolo Benassi, who had known each other since childhood, couldn’t find quality gelato like the kind you could get back home.<\/p>\n

Rather than sit around and complain, in 2002 they did something about it.<\/p>\n

And so, on Ile St. Louis<\/a><\/strong> in the heart of Paris, Amorino was born.<\/p>\n

Their passion and dedication proved to be a major success.<\/p>\n

As a result, Amorino began an international expansion which has already witnessed the opening of Amorino stores in Europe, Asia, the United States, and now, Playa del Carmen, Mexico.<\/p>\n
