or the sanctuary, you are welcomed by a rounded body of water intended to represent a cenote, with a circular opening directly above to let in the sunlight.<\/p>\n<p>The spacious lobby has two check-in areas and a number of seating areas situated comfortably around the cenote.<\/p>\n<p>Simple yet elegant, like so much else in this stunning Playa del Carmen resort.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10412\" style=\"width: 770px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10412\" class=\"wp-image-10412\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playadelcarmen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/andaz-mayakoba-logo-27.jpg\" alt=\"Andaz Mayakoba bird art\" width=\"760\" height=\"506\" data-id=\"10412\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10412\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Art by Senkoe<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Andaz Mayakoba is spread out through the jungle leading to the white sand beach of the Caribbean Sea.<\/p>\n<p>In between, beautiful man-made mangrove channels snake through and around the property.<\/p>\n<p>The buildings are graciously distributed throughout the jungle, allowing for more intimate contact with nature while at the same time providing a sense of exclusivity and privacy.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10410\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playadelcarmen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/andaz-mayakoba-logo-58.jpg\" alt=\"Andaz Mayakoba mangrove channels\" width=\"760\" height=\"506\" data-id=\"10410\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The constructions are large concrete block structures with touches of wooden exteriors to provide both shade and natural aesthetics that blend in with the environment.<\/p>\n<p>As a special Andaz Mayakoba touch, many of the buildings feature street art by the renowned Playa del Carmen artist <a href=\"http:\/\/globalstreetart.com\/senkoe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Senkoe<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><b><a href=\"#top\">Back to top<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"rooms\">Rooms at Andaz Mayakoba<\/h2>\n<p>Somber tones of gray and beige characterize the building.<\/p>\n<p>The inside of the rooms contrasts beautifully with the natural light, beautiful wooden interiors, decorative tiles, and colorful artisan d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n<p>The open layouts lead to small but comfortable balconies and terraces from where guests (depending on the room category they&#8217;ve chosen) can take in the gorgeous tropical views of the gardens, mangroves channels or of the Caribbean Sea.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10403\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playadelcarmen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/andaz-mayakoba-logo-13-2.jpg\" alt=\"Andaz Mayakoba suite with view of the beach\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\" data-id=\"10403\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The decorative tiles are made locally, and each room includes an ancestral decoration such as a traditional mask, Mayan huipil (blouse) or a colorful handcrafted bird.<\/p>\n<p>All rooms and suites include walk-in rain showers, a complimentary mini-bar with non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, 24-hour room service, and complimentary WiFi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><b><a href=\"#top\">Back to top<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"food\">Food &amp;
