Plusses: Love the tropical rainforest look, and literally it was dark and tropical on the walkway, while on the 4th floor deck, it was like being on the canopy! The room was on the main floor, so some dampness, but not much. We ran the A/C and it dried out nicely. No real issues with mold or smells. They offered 5 gallon purified water jugs which we welcomed. Loved the 4th floor deck and pool (although it was not heated - brrr!). The efficiency room included a fridge and stove, although we ended up finding some great restaurants to go to most days and never ate in the room. The staff spoke great English so communications were great, and they were SUPER helpful in everything. I liked the fact it was set back and with the trees, made for a very quiet setting.
Minuses: The pool was cold (but in all fairness, the whole place was cold - rarely got above 75 degrees!). The front window looked right down the walkway which made any privacy with the shades open not possible. We kept them closed most of the time. The only other light was from a couple small ventilation windows to the back of the room. At first it felt like a bit of a 'cell'. We really did want a second floor room, to get a view to the back. As it turned out, there was none to be had. The hotel is up against other buildings, so it really did not make any difference. By the second day, we got used to closing the curtains when we wanted privacy, and the view down the walkway was pretty nice, so it was worth the exposure. Besides, there were not that many people coming in and out, so again, it was not much of a factor once we got used to it.

I loved this little hotel, and its location. They gave me a beautiful studio, however it is the only room out to the street with a music bar that goes until 4 am. I live in Mexico so i am used to noise, but i had to close every window tight and put cotton in my ears in order to sleep. Next time i would book there againh, but state that i want a room inside. ( This time there were non available for me to switch).

One of the nicest places I have stayed for a relatively low price.

Nice hotel...be sure to advise guests that they don't take credit cards, so you'll have to pay the balance of the bill with cash when you arrive. We found an ATM nearby and got cash - thankfully there was no limit on how much we could take out.

The hotel staff were wonderful, the landscaping extraordinary, and it was quiet and private. I would definitely go back, now with the whole family.

I was initially given a room that was below ground with no windows. Clearly a windowless room was not what I planned on for my mexico holiday. It also had no covering on the door which was next to the bathroom. So if I showered I had to make sure I was fully covered when I stepped out of the bathroom. The room also smelled of mold. I complained right away but had to wait 2 days for my room to be changed. Everyone was very nice and it was changed, but to another windowless moldy room, upon complaining again, my room was changed to one with a window. I have to say the staff and owner were extremely nice, the location is very good, the courtyard is beautiful, the decorations are very nice, but there is a problem with mold in the rooms, and even the room I ultimately had on the 2nd floor developed a mold smell. To be fair, there had been intensive rain for some time, but because of the mold issue I just wouldn't recommend it.
