I would like to thank Andrew for referring me to the Hotel Riviera del Sol as it was an easy access to the best beach and only 1 block from 5th Avenue. The front desk clerk, Juan was so friendly and helpful always!! It was like a little home away from home "feel" which is what I wanted. The hotel was quaint, extremely clean and the continental breakfast was above my expectations. We made some friends at the hotel and I am looking forward to going back to Playa del Carmen & staying at this "best kept secret". So don't tell anyone about it, okay? (kidding) :)

I did not price the many others, but it seems there are plenty to choose from like this one up and down the main ave.
The road to the beach was difficult with the construction going on, almost too hard. The beach club was okay, but open to the public and frequently not enough palyapas to go around.
