If you are renting a car or have your own means of transportation (from Cancun Airport) please follow the directions below.

If you are taking a private taxi or van or shuttle bus from the airport, we suggest you exchange $100. US dollars at the money exchange as you exit customs at the airport. You will receive approx. 1100 pesos approx. 11 to 1

1. As soon as you exit outdoors you will see a taxi kiosk. (Pay in Pesos because you will save about 20%). Tell them you want either a private van or taxi to Playa del Carmen. It will cost 800 pesos for a van. A taxi is less, about 600 pesos Remember the cost is for the entire cab not per person. The large vans can accommodate up to 14 people. Suggested tip to the driver is $5 - $7 USD (70 pesos). Or a shuttle bus is about 180 pesos per person.

2. It is exactly 25 miles on the highway. Tell the driver that you want to go to the Porto Real Hotel which is located on Constitution Ave. and First Ave. We only refer to Porto Real as a land mark because it is the largest hotel in Playa and only 200 yards from Villas Sacbe. Porto Real hotel is located between the ocean and First Ave.

3. Tell the driver to make a right turn on First Ave. (one block in front of the beach) and go two blocks about 200 yards. Villas Sacbe is located on First Ave between 12 and 16th Street, on the right hand side. It is next to the Eclipse hotel. You can't miss it because it is a brand new building and there is a sign Villas Sacbe and it is a large beige building.

Playa is a very casual place.
