The staff at the Kinbe Hotel was very nice and the location of the hotel is ideally located near 5th Ave and close to the beach. Our room was well kept and the exterior grounds were nice, especially the garden area. The bathroom fixtures appeared to be new...a nice feature. The Kinbe may be a suitable choice for certain travelers because of location and price but there are 3 things that would prevent me from returning to this hotel or recommending it. 1) It was very noisy and the walls are thin 2) the pool does not get much sunlight and 3)the room felt very enclosed and confined. We resolved the noise problem with ear plugs after our first night and opted for the beach over the pool so those issues were not a big deal but the dark and confined nature of the room is the issue that would prevent my return. The room was very dark and the two windows were positioned such that were could not see anything out of them. Specifically, we could only see about 5 feet distance out of the narrow and small first floor window. The second floor window was positioned so you could not see out of it at all due to the room's floor plan. I could tell that not all rooms are set up like this but several are. Thanks to Patrizio from Worldlinks for making quick arrangements for our trip. The process was simple and we had a great trip. Playa Del Carmen is a wonderful palce to visit!
I believe that Worldlinks should have advised of the cost including taxes. The taxes on the hotel were very high. If you now the price of the hotel I am sure you were also aware of the taxes. The room cost 184 per night after taxes. This is much higher than the 135 rate quoted.
